Community Action Projects 2022
All classes devised Community Action Projects in the first half of the Summer term, linked to the value of 'service' and to coincide with the celebrating the legacy of Nicholas Chamberlaine, who continues to serve our community through the Nicholas Chamberlaine Trust. All the worthy causes and activities were chosen by the children linked to something they feel passionate about, following on from their class work or reflections from Worship sessions.
Nursery: Growing and selling sunflowers for ‘People in Action’. Reception: Litter picking after they noticed lots of litter when they went on their trip to the park; Year 1: Sponsored colouring competition and letter of thanks to the doctors and nurses at Birmingham Children’s Hospital; Year 2: Sponsored football match and letters of thanks to Birmingham Children’s Hospital; Year 3: Raising money through a sponsored walk/run for a homeless charity, following a recent Class Worship; Year 4: Supporting Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary through a cake sale and donations of pet food and blankets; Year 5: Three smaller ‘mini-projects’ as part of their Young Leaders Award including after school sales of drinks/lollies/food; Year 6: Fundraising for Cancer Research through a charity football match and raffle.
Each class has produced a video to showcase their Projects:
